Remake of Bad Lieutenant with Nicolas Cage

According to Variety, a remake of «Bad Lieutenant» is on the way.

The news is surprising: why make a new version of a masterpiece from the 90’s that is still very present in the collective unconscious?

Nevertheless, German director Werner Herzog, the maker of such memorable films as «Fitzcarraldo» and «Cobra Verde», will direct Nicolas Cage in a remake of «Bad Lieutenant».

The task for Cage will be difficult: it will be hard to forget Harvey Keitel in the role of the corrupt and drug-addicted cop in search of redemption who investigates the rape of a nun.
