The European Film Awards took place for the 15th year in Rome on Saturday evening. Glory goes to Pedro Almodóvar whose film «Hable Con Ella» stole the limelight, carrying away a raft of prestigious prizes.

Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar was awarded the prize of best director and best script writer. «Hable Con Ella» also carried off the prize of best European film, beating off intense competition from outstanding films such as Roman Polanski's «The Pianist» or Peter Mullan's «The Magdalene Sisters». Sergio Castellitto won the award of «Best Actor» for the roles he played in 2 films – «Bella Martha» and «L'Ora di Religione» and the ensemble cast (Catherine Deneuve, Fanny Ardant, Isabelle Huppert...) of «8 Femmes» was awarded the prize of «Best Actress».
