«Transformers 2» is beating everything in its path as it catches up to «The Dark Knight».
In its first weekend release around the world, Michael Bay's movie has taken in almost as much as the last Batman film, «The Dark Knight».
Box office reports come to almost $400 million (more precisely 391) for «Transformers 2» during its first 5 days of global release.
But the Batman movie, a star vehicle for Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckart, probably won't be dethroned by «Transformers 2». One fundamental difference separates the two productions: while «The Dark Knight» received rave reviews from fans and journalists alike, Michael Bay's movie was massacred by the press - to put it kindly.
