Tim Burton will get a lifetime achievement award at the next Venice Film Festival.
Director of numerous remarkable movies such as «Ed Wood», «Mars Attacks!», «Big Fish» and «Sleepy Hollow», Tim Burton will get a lifetime achievement award from the organizers of the next Venice Film Festival. Organizers have also announced that September 5th will be Tim Burton Day, with a «surprise offering» in store for attendees. This year's festival begins on August 29th.
Tim Burton is currently shooting a big-screen adaptation of the musical comedy «Sweeney Todd». The movie's origins is evolutionary: it is based on the 1979 Steven Sondheim musical, which was based on the 1973 play by Christopher Bond – which in turn was adapted from a popular 19th century booklet, said to be based on true occurrences. The story involves a barber seeking revenge for the death of his family who cuts up his clients and makes meat pies out of them.
