George Clooney shows compassion as a director for actors who get cut

George Clooney is cool as an actor and shows style as a director. For his directorial debut «Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind» Clooney, like many filmmakers before him, was forced to cut several actors with small roles out of the film and felt so sorry for them that he sent them personal condolence cards.

An actor's career can end abruptly - for example on the cutting room floor of Clooney's directorial debut «Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind». But Clooney doesn't just let the actors know at the last minute like other directors. Some actors, says one who should know, don't find out until the premiere: «They go in expecting to show their friends how they look on the screen and come out crying,» But Clooney showed class and let them know ahead of time, sending them condolence cards with the words: «A lot of people were cut because we came in overtime. This has nothing to do with your abilities. I wanted you to hear it from me first.»
