Sigourney Weaver has a great time playing mothers

Former alien-hunter Siourney Weaver is only being offered parts playing mothers. But that doesn't bother her: she finds nothing easier.

When female Hollywood stars reach a certain age they often start to complain that they're either getting offered no parts at all, or only parts playing mothers. But 52 year old Sigourney Weaver snaps up these roles. «I feel really comfortable in mother roles,» she said in a recent interview. «They're the easiest parts of all to play». Her most recent experience was playing the mother of Jennifer Love Hewitt in «Heartbreakers», and she plays a mother again in her latest film, «Tadpole», which opens in US cinemas this week. «Tadpole» tells the story of a 15 year old teenager who develops a crush on his stepmother. Weaver herself isn't interested in teenagers but she does like younger men. «I only ever went out with men who were younger than me. Perhaps it was because I was so immature myself,» she confided. Her husband - director Jim Simpson - is seven years her junior.
