Good or bad luck for Jennifer Connelly?

Those in charge of prize nominations for the American Screen Actors Guild have made a rather embarrassing mistake. Actress Jennifer Connelly has been nominated in the wrong category.

On the list of actresses they passed to the Screen Actors Guild of America (SAG), production company Universal suggested Jennifer Connelly for a prize in the category of «Best Leading Actress» for her role in «A Beautiful Mind». The catch is that Connelly only plays a supporting role in the film. «A Beautiful Mind» tells the story of a genial but schizophrenic mathematician, played by Academy Award winner Russell Crowe. Connelly, as his wife, doesn't appear until the film is almost over, though her performance has already earned her a Golden Globe Award for the role. Universal have had to conceed that an error was made when the SAG Award nominations were prepared. For the actress involved, though, this small irritation could represent a significant career break.
