A bright single lawyer who has been separated from her partner for three years, Diane is too busy to even think about her love life. Until fate introduces her to Alexander, who finds her lost cell phone. When this talented architect calls to return it, he charms her and asks her out. Thus begins a beautiful story, with one hitch: Alexander is a dwarf.

Up for Love is a very effective piece of marketing taken from an unknown Argentinean film (Corazón de León by Marcos Carnevale), directed by Laurent Tirard (Le Petit Nicolas, Astérix et Obélix au service de Sa Majesté), starring France’s most bankable couple(Virginia Efira, Jean Dujardin). A glittery façade calibrated to monopolize public attention that unsurprisingly hides a prefabricated romantic comedy without an ounce of originality. Apart from an incredible car scene that pushes the absurd further than expected, and decent special effects, Up for Love is a story of an unlikely couple who overcomes adversity in the name of self-righteousness. Luckily there is the talented Virginia Efira, who continues to build her strong and comic career in this love story about an extraordinary man that echoes The Sense of Wonder, which was purer and sweeter.
