Short description
Every year in spring, strips of fertile land are created on the Inguri River, the natural border between Georgia and Abkhazia, before disappearing again with the rain. An old Abkhazian and his granddaughter settle on one of these ephemeral islands to grow corn, while border guards make their rounds on each side of the river.
