Two brothers each live with a separated parent: Koichi with their mother, at the foot of a volcano that belches smoke, covering the town with a fine dust. When a new bullet train line is announced that crosses the region of Japan that separates him from his brother, Koichi hears that if you go to the exact place where two trains coming from opposite directions meet, miracles will happen. He decides to go there and see his wish fulfilled: if the volcano erupts and ruins the town, he and his mother will have to go live with his father and brother, and the family will be reunited.
