In Sofia, Kamen, an art student, loses a friend to suicide and decides to hitchhike to his funeral. Out of nowhere and seemingly on the run, Avé, 17, tags along and jumps into the first car that stops. Claiming to be on her way to visit a grandmother dying of cancer, she proceeds to tell each driver that picks them up a different story, sometimes introducing Kamen as her brother, sometimes as her boyfriend. When they arrive at the grieving family's house, she claims to be the dead young man's fiancée, much to Kamen's displeasure.
