Shrek Forever After
The drudge of family life throws Shrek into a midlife crisis, and eventually an alternate reality.
The drudge of family life throws Shrek into a midlife crisis, so he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to spend 24 like in the good old days when he was free to scare people and hang around his bog. What he doesn't know is that Rumpelstiltskin has sent him to an alternate reality: the kingdom of Far Far Away is lost in misery and desolation, while those near and dear to him, Fiona (a girl power vigilante), Donkey and Puss-in-Boots (who has turned fat and lazy) have no idea who he is...
Fourth and probably last episode in the Shrek franchise, whose makers haven't forgotten to how to entertain the parents of their target audience. Movie and musical references abound and the - very conservative - message is clear: «don't complain about your stressful life, nothing is better than a beautiful and large family». Even if it doesn't include anything new, the last Shrek chapters is often very funny.
