Jud Süß
The tragic story of Ferdinand Marian, who struggles with the question of whether to try and make it on his own as an actor, or to profit from the Nazi's propaganda machine and take the lead in a movie that "explains" why the Jews are inferior. As Josef Goebbels promises to make him a star, Marian at first turns him down, but eventually succumbs to the idea of taking on the "role of a lifetime" and ends up losing everything that matters: his family, his ideals, his health and finally himself. A clichéd and over-simplistic bit of navel-gazing by the German film industry that fails as a satire.
