From Paris With Love
James Reese, personal assistant to the US ambassador in Paris, also carries out small espionage missions for his government, in the hopes of becoming a secret agent. This opportunity becomes very real when he picks up his new partner from the airport. He soon finds his new buddy's tough and unorthodox methods teach him how to operate on the job, especially when they have to foil a terrorist attack on an international summit about to take place in the heart of the French capital. After the success of "Taken", Luc Besson produces another action film using postcard Paris as a backdrop, Jean Morel behind the camera, with John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers starring. Travolta, sporting a shaved head and a substantial goatee, shines in the part of an indomitable but phlegmatic CIA agent, while Rhys Meyers hits the bull's eye as the young lead yearning for adventures. Although often caricatural, this action flick proves entertaining.
