Up in the Air
Ryan Bingham has one of the worst jobs in the world: he is hired by companies all over the US to tell their employees they're fired. A cynical and rebellious individualist whose aim is to collect 10 million frequent flyer miles, Ryan spends most of his time in hotel rooms, airports and planes - traveling 250 days a year - or at one of his seminars telling participants how to trim the fat of family, personal possessions, souvenirs and feelings from their lives. But Ryan is challenged by two women: a young
educated colleague who decides on firings and a voluptuous woman Ryan keeps meeting along the way. Remarkable and caustic comedy about the tragedy of the economic crisis and its terrible consequences; it calms down and focuses on romance in the second half. From the talented director of "Juno" and "Thank You for Smoking", Jason Reitman. Supporting actors playing those fired in the film are people who were actually laid off during this recession.
