Rocksteady: The Roots of Reggae
Rocksteady developed in Jamaica in the mid 1960's from the roots of ska,
later mellowing as it turned into reggae. For his debut documentary feature, Stacha Bader gathered together the most significant representatives of this musical style and went with them to a recording studio in Kingston where they revived an almost lost musical tradition. A few added clips from the archives of history spice up this look at the reunion of the old guard of the roots of reggae.
