Law Abiding Citizen
Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is forced to watch as his wife and daughter are killed by burglars in his home. For lack of usable evidence, DA Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) cuts a deal with one of the perpetrators, so that while the other is sentenced to death, he goes free after just three years. Ten years later, the death sentence is carried out, and the accomplice is found in several pieces. The prime suspect is Shelton, who's out to teach the justice system a lesson. The suspenseful revenge thriller "Law Abiding Citizen" works despite, or maybe even because, of its completely overdone plot.
