Complices
Vincent and Rebecca have been madly in love since they met in a cyber-café. Her love leads Rebecca to follow Vincent as he turns tricks with older men. A few months later, Vincent's body washes up on the riverbank of the Rhone and Rebecca disappears. Two cops named Hervé and Karine are sent to investigate... The first feature from Swiss director Frédéric Mermoud, "Complices" is both a mystery that holds suspense through narration and flash-backs, and a profound reflection on love between teenagers. The lead actors, Gilbert Melki, Emmanuelle Devos, Cyril Descours and Nina Meurice, are remarkable for getting the tone just right. The film takes on the difficult subject of prostitution with much subtlety.
