The first feature from Swiss director Frédéric Mermoud, "Complices" is both a mystery that holds suspense through narration and flash-backs, and a profound reflection on love between teenagers. The lead actors, Gilbert Melki, Emmanuelle Devos, Cyril Descours and Nina Meurice, are remarkable for getting the tone just right. The film takes on the difficult subject of prostitution with much subtlety.
