Image galleryTommy and Sam are two very different brothers: Tommy is the black sheep who just go out of prison, while Sam is a respected professional soldier, an admired and fulfilled family man. Sam is sent to Afghanistan, where he is shot down in a helicopter and considered dead. Held in a camp by the Taliban, they force him to kill another prisoner to save his own life. Traumatized by his experience, he finally returns home where his reappearance shocks the family a second time. He smells a rat when he realizes his brother has taken over as head of the family and his wife seems too close to him... American remake, somewhat more civilized and therefore less poignant, of the eponymous 2004 Danish drama by Susanne Bier. Furthermore, costarring with Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal, Toby Maguire is not believable as a) a loving family man and b) a traumatized soldier returning from war.
