Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea
Ponyo, a little goldfish with the head of a red-headed girl, is washed ashore and saved by Sosuke, a 5-year-old boy who lives with his mother up on the highest cliff of their island. Ponyo is immediately taken by Sosuke, but her humanoid-magician father Fujimoto, who hates humans for polluting the ocean, locks her up to make sure she can't see Sosuke again. Now Ponyo dreams of nothing but becoming a little girl and finding Sosuke. Inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid, the legendary Hayao Miyazaki and 2003 Oscar winner puts off retirement for yet another magical film.
