Das Herz von Jenin
In 2005, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy named Ahmed is killed by Israeli
soldiers when he brandishes a toy weapon. In the hours after the tragedy,
the victim's body is taken to an Israeli hospital, where a Christian nurse convinces Ismael, the boy's father, to donate his organs to save other lives. Two years later, Ismael travels across Israel to find those who survived thanks to Ahmed. Of the 5 beneficiaries of an organ transplant, he finds 3, one of which is a Jewish orthodox adolescent in Jerusalem. The family of the fourth refused to be interviewed and the 5th died after the operation. A German-Israeli documentary about a geographic and spiritual voyage.
