Lars and the Real Girl
Shy and awkward, a young man named Lars lives a quiet and boring life in a small American town, spending his time either at work or in his small apartment next to the house owned by his brother and his pregnant sister-in-law. His life takes an exciting turn when he decides to introduce his family to his new girlfriend: an inflatable doll he ordered on the Internet and whom he treats as real. His family is dissuaded from having Lars immediately committed by the family doctor, who advises them to play along. Comedy that carefully avoids all references to the salacious relationship between the protagonist and his silicone consort.
